Klein opened his first store in 1968 in New York. Calvin Klein's eponymous first fragrance, Calvin Klein, was launched in 1978. It is sometimes referred to as "Calvin Klein Classic", "Calvin Klein Original" and "Calvin Klein Red" because it comes in a red box. The fragrance is a soft, floral and pink chypre.
